About the Club

Rovaniemi Fencing Club is the Northernmost fencing club in Finland. Young and active (established in 2004), the club is organising beginner's courses, organising training sessions and participating to fencing competitions.

Training sessions are open to everybody. If you haven't fenced before, a beginner's course is recommended before entering the organised training. You are, however, welcome to come to have an introduction to fencing in our training sessions.

The club has training equipment  and clothing, so you need only normal indoor sport clothing to start fencing. Later you may wish  to purchase your own equipment and clothing, and there are several manufactures providing the gear. Oulun Miekkailutarvike is an on-line shop managed by a member of our neighbour club from Oulu. Our webpage provides some other links for other manufacturers as well. If you want to compete in the national or international competitions, you will need the officially accepted gear.

If you are visiting Rovaniemi, you are welcome to fence with us and we can also provide the equipment for you for the training. Instruction is available in Finnish, English and French.

Training on Tuesdays and Fridays days between 1800 and 2000 hours and on Saturdays between 1500 and 1800 hours at Louhikkotie 28, where the RM Fencing hall is located.
